What is the purpose of the mysterious Stonehenge?
Over the centuries, no one knows the true purpose of Stonehenge, nor does anyone know who built it. Professor Hawkins from Oxford University, through careful observation and calculation, showed that through the structural relationship between the stone ring and the earth ring of Stonehenge, the 12 directions of the sun and the moon can be known, and the rise and fall of the sun, moon and stars in different seasons can be calculated, so this should be an ancient observatory. As for the investigation of Stonehenge, the real large-scale investigation was carried out in the late 20th century from 1980 to 1984. British archaeologists used modern scientific and technological means to find out that Stonehenge began to be built in 3100 BC, and it has been more than 5,000 years. There are relatively dense forests here, so many scholars have stated that this is the birthplace of human civilization on the British Isles.
So far, there are about 130 artificially carved stones in Stonehenge, which have caused a lot of speculation. Some people even believe that the blue sandstone of these stones comes from the Prescelis Mountains in southern Wales. At the same time, more geologists believe that the types of stones in Stonehenge are more diverse, and it is possible that they were brought here from distant places by glacial activity, and then collected by some architects to make corresponding materials.
